Your journey
Your 8-Day Scotland: Edinburgh, Oban & the Western Highlands combines three nights in Edinburgh with three in Oban and a final Glasgow night. Begin with the castle and old town, then travel west with a planned Stirling stop. A Highlands excursion and a slower harbor day leave time to enjoy the west-coast setting before your departure.

Your day-by-day itinerary
This proposed route is tailored to your dates and interests. The written quote confirms which guiding, tickets, meals and transfers are included. Independent-day suggestions are optional.

DAY 1
Arrive in Edinburgh
Arrive in Edinburgh and meet your driver at the airport, station or other central location confirmed in your travel documents. Continue to your selected four-star or higher accommodation, check in when your room is ready and take time to settle in after the journey.
Keep the remaining hours light. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to the old town and garden viewpoints or stay close to the hotel for a quiet meal. Organized sightseeing starts after you have had time to rest. International travel before arrival is separate from the hotel-night count shown for this route.
Overnight: Edinburgh. Hotel night 1 of 7.

DAY 2
Edinburgh castle and the old town
Explore Edinburgh with a local guide, connecting the old town's streets and the castle area with the city's history. The route takes account of the slopes, steps and cobbled surfaces, with breaks and a pace agreed for your party.
Your proposal confirms castle admission and the parts of the visit included. After the guided introduction, enjoy lunch and independent time, perhaps returning to an area you noticed during the walk. The evening remains open for dinner, with additional performances or experiences optional until confirmed.
Overnight: Edinburgh. Hotel night 2 of 7.

DAY 3
Edinburgh at your own pace
Enjoy a full day in Edinburgh without moving hotels. Return to the old town, spend time in a museum or walk through the gardens and newer streets. Your travel expert will suggest a practical route around your interests and walking preferences.
Additional admissions, guiding or an evening experience remain optional until agreed in your proposal. Otherwise, keep the schedule independent, with a leisurely lunch and a flexible afternoon. The slower day gives you room to enjoy the city before the west-coast stage of the journey.
Overnight: Edinburgh. Hotel night 3 of 7.

DAY 4
Edinburgh to Oban
Check out after breakfast and continue from Edinburgh to Oban using your selected road transport. Your travel documents confirm the departure point, timing, baggage arrangements and any station or airport transfers. We allow practical time for the journey rather than adding a major sightseeing commitment before check-in.
A planned Stirling stop breaks the journey west. The admission and guiding arrangement is confirmed before booking. Continue through the changing countryside toward Oban, allowing time for the roads and selected scenic stops before settling into your hotel. The final proposal confirms the transport and services included on this travel day.
Overnight: Oban. Hotel night 4 of 7.

DAY 5
A western Highlands excursion
Set out for the western Highlands on the road route agreed in your proposal. Allow time for the scenery to change between lochs, glens and small settlements, with selected stops rather than a long list of places seen through the window.
The day's route depends on road conditions, weather and your preferred walking level. A short scenic stop and a longer countryside walk require different planning, so we agree the balance in advance. Return to your Oban accommodation for a free evening after the excursion.
Overnight: Oban. Hotel night 5 of 7.

DAY 6
Oban harbor and a slower coastal day
Enjoy a full day based in Oban, with time to walk around the harbor and appreciate the town's coastal setting. Choose a leisurely lunch, browse the center or return to your hotel for a quiet afternoon. Your travel expert will suggest a pace suited to the season.
An island outing or boat excursion is an optional addition requiring confirmed sailings, weather conditions and transport. The draft leaves the day flexible rather than promising a ferry connection without checking the current service. You remain in Oban for another night.
Overnight: Oban. Hotel night 6 of 7.

DAY 7
Oban to Glasgow
Check out after breakfast and continue from Oban to Glasgow using your selected road transport. Your travel documents confirm the departure point, timing, baggage arrangements and any station or airport transfers. We allow practical time for the journey rather than adding a major sightseeing commitment before check-in.
Settle into your accommodation in Glasgow, then enjoy an independent introduction to the central streets and public squares. Pause for lunch or dinner as the timing allows, and leave room to rest before the next full day of sightseeing. The final proposal confirms the transport and services included on this travel day.
Overnight: Glasgow. Hotel night 7 of 7.

DAY 8
Depart from Glasgow
Enjoy breakfast as your departure time allows, check out and meet your driver at the location confirmed in your travel documents. Continue to the airport, station or onward connection specified in your proposal, leaving appropriate time for check-in and departure procedures.
Your stay ends after the hotel nights listed for this route. If you prefer a later departure, extra night or extension, discuss the arrangements before booking so we plan the accommodation and transfers together. International flights, meals after check-out and additional services are separate unless expressly included in your written quote.
Departure day. No additional hotel night included.

Planning your trip
Is this a scheduled group departure?
This is a customized package with dates and services agreed for your party. Your proposal specifies whether individual activities use a private guide, a shared tour or independent time. No fixed group size or guaranteed departure is implied.
What does the price depend on?
Your travel dates, party size, room requirements, hotel choices and confirmed services determine the quote. Pricing is on request. We do not present historical client costs as current rates.
When should we contact you?
Contact us at least two months before departure. Six to eight months gives more choice for accommodation and popular experiences. We arrange complete packages of at least seven nights rather than individual services.
Are museums, cruises and special visits guaranteed?
Tickets and seasonal services depend on availability. We confirm the chosen visits and transport before booking, and agree alternatives when a service does not operate on your dates.
Where do we meet our guides and drivers?
Meeting points are your hotel lobby, the arrival terminal, station or a central location specified in your final travel documents. Exact meeting details follow the confirmed arrangements.
