Paris, France: Accommodations in the historic center of the city

This is for planning purposes only. Actual hotels based on availability for your specific dates will be put in in subsequent versions. At this stage we only focus on the basic details.

Paris, France’s capital, is a major European city and a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Its picturesque 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine. Beyond such landmarks as the Eiffel Tower and the 12th-century, Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral, the city is known for its cafe culture, and designer boutiques along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. We have several lovely hotels in the historical area of the city. The city of Paris is divided into twenty arrondissements. The first one is in the center, the following ones spiral outwards in a clock- wise direction. Most of the famous tourist attractions can be found in one of the central eight arrondissements, this is where we choose our hotels for you.

Paris Dinner Reservations

We will make reservations only for you at one of the places we know that is not a touristy place. Reservations only, meal paid locally.

Day 3: Paris – Private or Group walking tour of Paris

Although it’s tempting to take the Métro around Paris, the best way to explore the city is on foot with a local guide. Walking along the Seine, strolling around the Jardin du Luxembourg, or indulging in some idle flânerie (aimless wandering through an urban environment) along the Grands Boulevards will not only open your eyes to Paris’s charm and beauty, but will enable you to discover the city’s rich history. Paris is full of surprises and hidden treasures. In this section we suggest three walking tours around different Parisian neighborhoods: Montmartre, the Marais, and the Latin Quarter. We can arrange a group or private walking tour of Paris.

Day 4: Paris – Biking tour of Paris

You will cruise through Europe’s most amazing city, tell you all the history & unknown stories, ride through charming back streets, stop on our favorite bakery street, and feel Paris come alive in the process!

We realize that most travelers will see the touristy areas on their own, so we focus this bike tour on the back streets and local areas that we have discovered (don’t worry, we see many famous sites too)! We’ll also recommend all of our favorite things to do at the end of the tour.

This tour lasts approximately 3 1⁄2 hours, but no need to worry- we ride at a very leisurely pace, which is appropriate for all ages & fitness levels (Paris is very flat). We only have one requirement- that you know how to ride a bike!

Day 5: Paris – Sightseeing Paris: Morning: Louvre Museum

Your private, licensed guide will take you to the Louvre Museum. Avoiding all the lines, you will start with the private visit of the museum with your private guide.

You are free to enjoy the city for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Day 6: Paris – Day trip outside Paris – Versailles or Giverny

Enjoy a Half-day excursion from Paris to visit the house and the gardens of Claude Monet, the well-known Impressionist painter OR the famous jewels of France: Versailles Castle, well known as the Sun King’s Estate.

Lunch or Dinner Cruise on the Seine River

aboard an entirely glass-encased boat, you’ll be in on the river watching the city of lights, the cuisine is meticulously presented, the service is attentive and discreet, your eyes will sparkle as never before… This is a must-do, a cultural and very Parisian experience that is unique and must be shared! We can arrange for a lunch or dinner cruise.

Day 7: Paris – Bordeaux

Private transfer from Paris hotel to Paris airport

Hopper Flight from Paris to Bordeaux – Flight is much faster than the train

Pick up rental car

We will arrange for a rental car with full insurance for the duration of your stay in this area.

We have personal relationships with many of the property owners and make sure each of our property’s great amenities, private bath and excellent service. We will book a hotel or apartment in the historical center of the city within each reach of the sites.

Day 8: Explore Bordeaux by car

We will give you a wonderful driving program for the area.

Day 11: Madrid -Walking tour of Madrid with our local guide

Madrid is a very easy city to explore on foot as most of the key sights — palaces, churches, and museums — are closely grouped in and around the central narrow-alleyed Austrias district, and the city itself, though high up, is mostly flat. Plus, you don’t have to go to the periphery of the city to find beautiful green areas and a bit of respite from the urban hustle.

Your guide will introduce you to the city from a local’s perspective and show you some of the most important sites of the city…

Royal Palace

Teatro Real (The Royal Opera House) Plaza Mayor

Moorish ruins

Sol, heart of Madrid

Catedral de Almudena

Church of San Ginés

Spanish Inquisition

just to name a few.

Day 12: Madrid – Free during the day, Flamenco show tonight

Free day today or may we suggest a lovely show tonight: The place where flamenco is performed is called “Tablao”. Shows performed by the best flamenco artists use to be hosted in the city`s major theatres. Madrid is plenty of “tablaos” where you can enjoy daily flamenco shows performed by really good artists and most of them offer dinner-shows combining traditional gastronomy with spectacle and culture. We will arrange for you to enjoy a show tonight.

Day 13: Depart Spain for home

Private airport transfer

End of tour.
